Case Overview
The Autumn Case uses a broad item pool rather than a narrow set of similarly valued skins. Lower- and mid-value finishes account for most of the probability mass, while expensive finishes and knife-tier items occupy very small probability bands. This creates an asymmetric distribution: most results cluster in the lower part of the value range, while rare outcomes extend the upper tail. Its market positioning is based on variety across CS2 skin categories rather than concentration around one weapon or rarity class. Pool quality is better measured by the probability assigned to liquid, actively traded items than by the presence of a few high-value entries.
Value and Risk Factors
Expected value is the probability-weighted average of all possible item values. A case can contain expensive items and still have a lower expected return when those outcomes carry minimal probability weight. Variance matters because rare upper-tail results can raise the mathematical average without reflecting a typical result. Other factors include skin liquidity, condition-specific valuation, buy-sell spreads, and demand stability. Market changes can alter EV even when case probabilities remain fixed, so analysis should use current values and the complete rarity distribution rather than isolated premium items.
