Listed premium probabilities can be as low as one thousandth of one percent per item. This produces a strongly right-skewed structure: most outcomes cluster in the lower market segment, and a few scarce entries extend the upper end without changing the most probable result.
Value and Risk Factors
EV is calculated by multiplying every item’s market value by its probability and adding the results. Here, the average can be sensitive to a handful of very rare skins, while the median remains driven by common items. That gap matters because a wide upper tail does not indicate stable realized returns. Item-pool quality should be judged through liquidity, wear-specific pricing, and collection demand. Statistical variance is high when premium outcomes have minimal probability, and short samples may differ substantially from theoretical averages. A restrained assessment should compare probability mass by value band and treat changing demand as an additional source of uncertainty.
